Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. MyOratory works fully without one. An account keeps your saved prayers on all your devices and lets Premium follow you.
Why does the prayer stop when my phone locks?
In the iPhone and Android apps, prayers keep playing with the screen locked. In a web browser, the phone pauses the page when it locks; keep the screen on while you pray, or use the app.
How do I change the voice or reading speed?
Open Settings › Prayer, or tap the sliders button on any prayer screen to change voice, music and speed while you pray.
How do I set reminders for the Offices?
In the app, open Settings › Reminders and turn on Morning Prayer, Noonday Prayer, Evening Prayer or Compline, choosing a time for each. Tap a reminder to open that Office.
I didn't get the email with my code.
Check your spam or junk folder, then tap Send the code again. Codes expire after an hour. If nothing arrives, write to us.
How do I cancel Premium?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google. On iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › MyOratory. On Android: Google Play › Profile › Payments and subscriptions › Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
How do I restore a purchase on a new phone?
Open Settings › MyOratory Premium › Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple or Google account you bought with.
Delete your account
You can delete your MyOratory account and everything synced to it at any time.
In the app
- Open MyOratory and tap the gear (Settings).
- Under Account, tap Delete account.
- Tap Delete account again to confirm. You can also choose to remove your prayers from the device.
By email
If you can't open the app, write to [email protected] from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We will delete it within 7 days and confirm by email.
What is deleted
- Deleted straight away: your account, email address and every prayer synced to it.
- Backups: cleared within 30 days.
- Not affected: prayers stored only on your device stay until you delete the app. Purchase records are kept by Apple or Google, and a subscription continues until you cancel it in your store account.
